When does Clans of the Forest release, and what platforms is it on?

It releases on 23 October 2026, on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, all on the same day. No unlock hour has been published for PC or console. The only publisher timestamp that exists is the pre-order bonus cutoff of 10/23/2026 00:00 PDT, which is a purchase deadline rather than a launch time.

Is it free-to-play, on Game Pass, or a one-time purchase?

A one-time purchase. It is $29.99 for the standard edition or $39.99 for the Feral Edition on console, and $39.58 for the Feral Edition as a Steam bundle. PCGamingWiki records it as a one-time game purchase with no microtransactions.

Game Pass has not been announced. The Xbox store pages carry no subscription label and no first-party statement about subscription timing exists. That is "not announced", not "not coming". The price and edition comparison is on the editions and price page.

Is there a demo or playtest I can try?

No. No demo or playtest exists as of 28 September 2026. Steam's app record carries no demo entry, the store page has no demo link, and no press release, official page or store listing mentions one. It is also not in Early Access - there is no Early Access label anywhere on the record. If you are deciding whether to buy based on hands-on time, there is no way to get it before 23 October.

Can you play as a Medicine Cat, and is the game gory?

You cannot play as a Medicine Cat. There are no classes in the game; the player is locked to the warrior path by design, and Medicine Cats appear in the story. The developers explained the reason: the emotional climax across all four Sagas relies on you standing at the head of your Clan.

There is no graphic blood. The game uses stylized scars as cats age, and there is a settings toggle to disable them. The ESRB rating is Everyone 10+ for fantasy violence. The cat creator page covers the ageing and scars system in full.

Will there be DLC, and does it support controllers or Steam Deck?

One DLC is already listed: the Prophecy Pack, bundled into the Feral Edition and also sold on its own. It adds 8 cat-creator accessories, 12 wearable accessories, a cel-shaded character skin, 4 cat poses for photo mode and 4 photo mode effects. The creative director has said further content plans will be addressed later, so more may come, but nothing is announced.

Is Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest a Roblox game? No. It is the first officially licensed Warrior Cats video game, on PC and console. The only prior Warrior Cats game is a Roblox social roleplaying title, which is a separate product with a separate developer.

How many playable cats are there? You play one Warrior Cat that you create and name yourself, in a Clan you choose from four. Separately, nine cats from the book series appear in the game, of which four have been named so far - Brightheart, Tawnypelt, Tallstar and Ivypool. The characters page has the full detail.

Can I play on a Mac? No. The PC build is Windows 10/11 64-bit only, with no macOS or Linux version listed. Console versions exist for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and Switch 2.
